On 17th August 2025, Asante Children and Food Initiative (ACFI) traveled to St. Kizito Primary School in Rakai District as part of its ongoing commitment to fight hunger and support children’s education.

The purpose of the visit was to assess potential beneficiaries for the next school feeding program, which will target 50 children. Under this program, the selected pupils will receive both breakfast and lunch while at school, ensuring that hunger does not stand in the way of their learning and growth.

During the visit, the team engaged with teachers, pupils, and community leaders to better understand the challenges children face in accessing nutritious meals. Many of the pupils come from families struggling with food insecurity, which often forces children to attend school on an empty stomach or even drop out altogether.

The introduction of the feeding program at St. Kizito Primary School will not only improve nutrition and health outcomes for the children but also enhance their concentration, academic performance, and school attendance. This initiative reflects ACFI’s mission to keep children in school by addressing one of the most pressing barriers to education, hunger.

As ACFI prepare to launch this program, the team remain grateful to its partners and supporters who make such interventions possible. Together, we can create a brighter future for children in Rakai and beyond.
